NHLA Accredited Mortgage Lender™ Qualifications and Standards

The following are the requirements that our Accredited Mortgage Lender™ partners must meet to qualify.  NHLA routinely monitors the activities of these lenders to ensure you work with lenders you can trust!

Qualifications and Standards: 

1. You must have been in the mortgage origination business for at least the most recent consecutive 12 months (1 year). If applying for PHLA certification, you must have been in the mortgage origination business for at least the most recent 60 months (5 years).

2. You must currently hold and maintain all required licensing, certification, and bonding.

3. You must be free of any government, state, or local action that demonstrates a failure to fulfill the requirements of the NHLA Accredited Mortgage Lender™ Code of Ethics.

4. You must have and maintain a satisfactory service rating with NHLA.

5. You must have a direct and effective means to communicate with consumers.

6. If conducting business via the internet, your website(s) must contain disclosures to all government, state and local required certifications.

7. Upon request, you must provide NHLA with all information required to evaluate compliance with NHLA Qualifications, Standards, and Code of Ethics.
